Higher than normal high tides expected in Brisbane 14-18 Nov 2016. A predicted tide peak of 2.83m (1.59 mAHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approx. 10:42am on Wed, 16 Nov 2016. There may also be higher than normal high tides in the days before and after the peak. These peak tides are expected to be similar in height to the high tides experienced in Jun 2016. Minor localised flooding may be experienced in bayside, riverside and low lying parts of nearby suburbs. Areas connected to foreshore, and tide-affected areas of the river, creeks and other waterways may also be affected. Residents are urged to take precautions if required and sandbags are available for collection at any time of the day from any of the below depots: Darra - 38 Shamrock Road, Darra Morningside - 9 Redfern Street, Morningside Newmarket - 66 Wilston Road (in carpark off Erneton Street), Newmarket Zillmere - 33 Jennings Street, Zillmere Lota - Herbert Street, Lota. Avoid parking your vehicle in areas prone to localised flooding due to high tides as salt water can cause permanent damage to vehicles. Motorists are advised to avoid driving through flood affected roads.
