Planned Burn Notice Warning Level: Advice Issued: 8 September 2025 Reserve: Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve
AVOID SMOKE (HAZARD REDUCTION BURN) Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve fire as at 9 September 2025, weather permitting.
Warning level: ADVICE
Warning area: Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve and surrounding areas. Brisbane City Council will be undertaking a planned burn on 9 September 2025 at Mt Gravatt Outlook Reserve between Mt Gravatt Outlook Drive and the Goodenia Track, and behind residences on Verbena Street and Mountain Street, Mount Gravatt, weather permitting.
Council staff will be on site for the duration to ensure the safety of the area. Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
Expected duration: This burn will commence at approximately 10.00am and continue into the early evening.
Smoke dispersal: Smoke may impact surrounding properties and surrounding suburbs. The burn area will continue to generate smoke even after burn operations are completed. Management tracks in the area will be closed during the burn and may be closed for up to two weeks after the burn. What you should do: Stay inside and close windows and doors Keep respiratory medication close by Avoid driving through smoke if you can Watch out for firefighters working in the area Do not fly drones around the fire. Drones affect air operations.
