Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in Ipswich and parts of Logan, Somerset, Brisbane City and Scenic Rim Council Areas. Issued at 9:59 pm Thursday, 22 September 2022. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:50 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Rosewood, Marburg and Amberley. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Ipswich by 10:20 pm and Bundamba Lagoon, Redbank Plains and Lake Manchester by 10:50 pm. Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely. Coulson Crossing recorded 57mm in an hour to 9:45pm Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 11:00 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
