Higher than normal high tides are expected from Friday, 10 March 2017 through to Monday, 13 March 2017. A peak of 2.75 metres (1.51m AHD) at the Brisbane Bar is expected on Friday, 10 March 2017, at approximately 8:06am (0806hrs). A peak of 2.78 metres (1.54m AHD) at the Brisbane Bar is expected on Saturday, 11 March 2017, at approximately 8:51am (0851hrs). A peak of 2.76 metres (1.52m AHD) at the Brisbane Bar is expected on Sunday, 12 March 2017, at approximately 9:31am (0931hrs). A peak of 2.71 metres (1.47m AHD) at the Brisbane Bar is expected on Monday, 13 March 2017, at approximately 10:06am (1006hrs). These high tides are expected to be similar to the high tides experienced in early June 2016, with similar impacts anticipated. Minor localised flooding may be experienced in bayside, riverside and low lying parts of nearby suburbs. Areas connected to foreshore, and tide-affected areas of the river, creeks and other waterways may also be affected. Residents in areas prone to localised flooding due to high tides are advised to avoid parking their car on the street during the event, as salt water can cause permanent damage to vehicles. Motorists are also advised to avoid driving through flood affected roads. Residents are urged to take precautions if required and sandbags are available for collection at any time of the day from any of the below depots: • Darra - 38 Shamrock Road, Darra • Morningside - 9 Redfern Street, Morningside • Newmarket - 66 Wilston Road (in carpark off Erneton Street), Newmarket • Zillmere - 33 Jennings Street, Zillmere • Lota - Herbert Street, Lota.
